ABOUT ELITE MOTORSPORTS
and Richard Freeman

 

 

Drag racing has been in Richard Freeman’s blood since he was a youth. His father Royce Campaigned Pro Stock cars the in the 1960’s. Now the 33 year-old-Freeman is looking to follow in his father’s footsteps and make his mark in the factory hot rod division of IHRA.

Richard has his sights set on a run for the 2008 IHRA Pro Stock World Championship. Richard Freeman is no stranger to winning in the quarter-mile wars. As a team owner for his brother Robert the two scored the division 4 Championship in Comp, and were the division representatives in the 2003 prestigious Jeg’s Allstars, which pits the best seven racers from NHRA’s seven geographic regions and the reigning champ in a special winner take all event, which the Freeman’s won.

Not to be outdone, when Richard got behind the wheel he gained the respect of his peers with three impressive seasons in Comp. In his first season Richard was victorious at the Division 4 event in Rusk Texas and went on to finish in the top 5 in the division.

Richard followed up his rookie campaign as a driver with a national event victory at the 2005 O’Reilly Fall Nationals in Dallas, Texas.

In 2006 he took his performance a step further by qualifying in the top half of the field at each of the events he attended and backed up his 2005 Dallas victory with a runner up finish in Dallas and Denver 2006.  

For 2008 Richard will be driving a Jerry Haas Pro Stock Chevrolet Cobalt with Kaase power.

Off the quarter –mile Richard has become one of the sales leaders in the truck, trailer, and motorhome market in the Midwest. His business, Elite Motorsports, boasts more than 5 million dollars in inventory and carries top of the line trailers, trucks, and motorhome conversions.

Dallas Motorsports was originally formed to operate a Top Fuel Team, winning two Championships, the 1990 IHRA Top Fuel World Championship & 1993 AHRA Top Fuel World Championship and running the quickest run in the history of drag racing (4.69) in Englishtown, New Jersey in May of 1994. In June of 1995, at the conclusion of an eight year commitment to Wiltel/LDDS/Worldcom and a two year sponsorship agreement with Sequent Computers, the race team was closed. Since January 1996 Dallas Motorsports has focused 90% of its efforts on buying, selling and remodeling used Tractors and Transporters for the Motorsports Industry.
